Playing with paper...

I wasn't able to attend Silver Bella this year, and the one class I hated missing was Teresa's altered book class. As a paper and book lover, and an admirer of Teresa's work, I knew it would be just my style. I was happy to read on her blog last week that she had a few kits available from the class, and I was able to pick one up. Oh happy day!

The kit arrived in the post last evening and wanting to enjoy it this year, I got started on it right away. Teresa included almost everything but the scissors and glue to complete this great project. I was up early this morning and while still dark outside, I finished this darling book.

Tonight is Nancy's last Open Studio and happily it is in her charming 1920's home. She is hosting a paper party, and we are planning to create tags, cards, ornaments and more. Last time she hosted it there, we all stayed a bit last and I didn't get home until close to midnight. That gives you some idea of the welcome, festive time we have there. Alain has promised to cook up something wonderful, and he is just the man to do it! Nancy had vintage vinyl playing in the background, and a roaring fireplace to set the mood. Sadly this will be our last Open Studio until the New Year, but it will be fun to celebrate with the sisterhood of women who have come to be a wonderful part of my life.
I hope you all take time out to celebrate with those you love. After all, with money a bit tight everywhere, getting together with friends doesn't cost a thing, and it reminds us of what's really important!
